COMMUNITY
CHRISTIAN ACADEMY CHAPTER OF NHS GUIDELINES
Note: CCA can apply Christian values into the
four pillars of NHS because we have the privilege of attending a Christian
school. Along with the pillars, we
also look for Christ-like qualities. We can also intertwine the Christian values into the four
pillars. The essay part of the
Student Activity Information Form includes several thought provoking Christian
questions. NHS does not include
any Christian values in the national handbook, because of its partnership with
several public schools, but private schools are also affiliated with this
organization. As included in the
NHS National Guidelines, “Membership is an honor bestowed upon an individual,
and thus a privilege. It is neither a position for which one applies nor to
which one is elected nor a right of any individual.”
SCHOLARSHIP

Students with
cumulative GPA’s of 3.5 or higher are invited to fill out the Student Activity
Information Form.
·
Students must
maintain this GPA during their time in NHS.

THE

·
See national

·
In addition to
national guidelines
o
The principal
has given the right to the chapter adviser to select the Faculty Council.
o
The council is
not always the same group of people.
o
The council is
made of faculty who had the students in class most recent.
o
The Faculty
Evaluation Form is attached. The
teachers were allowed to make comments, however, from experience, the more
direct the question is, the better the answer will be. This year teachers were asked if they
felt the candidate would be an asset to our chapter. The teachers also had the option to put N/A next to the
student’s name. This was an option
for those teachers who have not had the students in several years or never at
all. The chapter adviser then
tallied the votes and made a guide that was percentage based. This was an action that only assisted
the Faculty Council and had no accreditation as a vote. *Note* The percentages were extremely accurate and in line with the
Faculty Council’s vote.
o
Students were
notified by the chapter adviser.
o
Induction
ceremony was held the following week.
