General Info

Welcome to CCA - Community Christian Academy!

Our mission is to provide a Christ-centered environment for area Christian families where students receive an excellent education based on biblical truth that will equip them to serve God to their greatest potential.

"Community" indicates we are about reaching all Christian families through Christian education. "Christian" means that our educational process is Christ-centered in its approach and its environment. "Academy" is a place where knowledge and training are emphasized. Our name says it all. We are Community Christian Academy, a place where a Christian foundation for education is offered to our community.

Over 70 percent of the teachers hold a degree beyond the bachelor's degree with an average of 15 years of teaching experience. Many of our teachers have retired from the public school classrooms. They have sensed the call of God to "come over and help us". Our small student-to-teacher ratio sets CCA apart in the educational choices available in the area. The standardized test scores of our students rank above State and National Averages.

Accreditation

Community Christian Academy is fully accredited by the Kentucky Board of Education through the Kentucky Non-Public School Commission and is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International (ACSI). CCA high school students are eligible to participate in the Kentucky Education Excellence Scholarship (KEES) program that allows high school students to earn money to be applied toward college expenses at participating Kentucky colleges and universities.

Community Christian Academy is also a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association (KHSAA) and the Association of Christian School International (ACSI).

Admissions Policy

Community Christian Academy admits students of any race, color and national or ethnic origin to all rights, privileges, programs and activities generally accorded to or made available to students of the school. CCA does not discriminate on the basis of race, color or national or ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies and admission. By making application to the school, the parent is certifying that at least one parent in the home has a saving relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ and that he/she is in agreement with CCA’s Statement of Faith.

About Community Christian Academy

Community Christian Academy was founded in the fall of 1992. A small group of people from Cornerstone Community Church believed there was a need for a Christian school in the Paducah area. The school was opened as Cornerstone Academy at the beginning of the 1992-93 school years with four (4) teachers and thirty-five (35) students in Kindergarten through 6th grades. In August of 1994, the name and corporate status of the school were changed to Community Christian Academy, Inc. The location was changed to 3230 Buckner Lane, the former Saint Thomas Moore Catholic School and now the Oasis Christian Center in Paducah. Community Christian Academy was considered a ministry of Cornerstone Community Church until 1999. At that time, the Board of Directors voted to become independent of any one church. Students attending Community Christian Academy come from over seventy (70) different churches representing all denominations in Paducah and the surrounding area. As the school grew in number of students, approximately 25 acres of property at 110 Lebanon Church Road, 3 miles south of Lone Oak, was purchased and a new school building was constructed. The new facility opened its doors in the 2003-04 school years to students in grades 7-12. Kindergarten classes are housed at Paducah’s First Baptist Church at 2890 Broadway. Grades 1-6 are housed at the 3230 Buckner Lane location. Today, at the core of Community Christian Academy’s program, is a commitment to traditional education in a Christ-centered environment.

Chapel

All students and staff at both the elementary and secondary campuses are expected to attend the weekly chapel program each Wednesday. Chapel is a time of worship through music and Christian speakers from the community. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend.

Athletics

Community Christian Academy is a member of the Kentucky High School Athletic Association.
