Community Christian Academy hosted the annual Association of Christian Schools International District Spelling Bee for the Mid-America Region on February 5, 2019, at Lone Oak First Baptist Church.  Students in grades 1 through 8 from Heritage Christian Academy—Hopkinsville, Heritage Christian Academy—Madisonville, and Community Christian Academy participated in the District Bee.

Community Christian Academy participants were Leah Baker, Ayden Garland, Kathleen Hancock, Clayton Holland, Gavin Webb, Elena Wilson, Emma McClanahan, Grace McGee, Sierra Olroyd, Annsley Brazell, Aiden Neely, Jace Sublette, Kenadie Hughes, Daisy Crittendon, Hope Wright, Kade Krimple, Shad Luker, Kaleb Sperry, Cheyana George, Sara Kate Key, Ava Knight, Millie Midkiff, Sydney Nace, Kasen Palmer, Emma Wring, Adlee Grace Smithson, Audrey Paige Wilson, Lucas Baten-Knott, Jeramiah Growell, John English, and Alayna Watkins.

Students placing first through fourth in grades 5 through 8 then competed in a spell-off to determine which five students would participate in the Regional Spelling Bee for the Mid-America Region on March 29, 2019, at Indiana Wesleyan University in Marion, Indiana.  Students placing in the spell-off were:  1st – Emma Wring, CCA; 2nd – Carson Powell, HCA Hopkinsville; 3rd – Jazy Blanchard, HCA Hopkinsville; 4th – Hayden Carter, HCA Madisonville; 5th – Austin Crick, HCA Madisonville.
